Golfballs.com Expert Description

Start playing your A-game with the new 2016 TaylorMade Project (a) Golf Balls, engineered to be softer than ever before, but still maintain fantastic distance. A great option for competitive amateurs with mid-level handicaps, these 40 compression three-piece balls help you find exceptional distance off any shot. You'll also notice enhanced spin to help you on those difficult approach shots and hold greens like you're a Tour pro.

Softer REACT™ Core

The 2016 Project (a) golf ball contains a 30 percent softer core than the prior generation, giving these balls the soft feel preferred by many of today's players. The new REACT™ Core delivers better yards on your long shots, while the combination of the Spin Mantle™ layer and Soft Tech™ cover help give this ball better control and feel.

Spin Enhancements

The average amateur produces about 50 percent less spin on their shots than professionals, but with the Project (a) you can turn your shots like a pro for awesome approach plays and greens that stick. The Soft Tech™ cast urethane cover is the same material many Tour-level balls have and provides excellent durability, feel, and spin.

You'll also find a 360 LDP® (Low Drag Performance) Aerodynamic dimple pattern imprinted into the cover, giving your shots more cut through wind. The Spin Mantle™ technology found in the inner layer adds another level of control to your shot, helping your short game look tighter and more focused.

Features of the TaylorMade Project (a) Golf Balls:

  • The new Project (a) features a 30% softer core than its predecessor, providing a much softer feel.
  • Soft cast urethane cover for more control off all irons and wedges where the amateur needs it most.
  • 3 piece, 360 LDP aerodynamics
  • Soft Tech urethane cover
  • 40 compression rating delivers remarkably soft feel

As good as the "premium" balls, much easier on the wallet

I have been playing these balls for about six years now. The TP5 is definitely the best ball - but, at double the price, is one yard difference on the drive and one less foot back spin worth it? Not for me! Urethane cover, three piece ball (think TP5/ProV), and all the golf ball can give you at half the price - this is one of the best buys in golf balls, period. Try it and see for yourselves.

Great value on Taylormade Project A Balls
9/3/2018
I bought prior generation Taylormade Project A balls for a $24.95/dozen. That's a third off the normal price, and who can tell the difference between generations? Purchase was easy, shipping was fast. Great bargain for really nice golf balls.

I can’t tell the difference!

For me, the Project (a)’s play as well as Pro V 1’s or the tour versions from Taylor Made. And for $15 less a dozen, I can’t really tell much difference and these work well for me. Soft feel and good distance. I think they’re an excellent value. But what do I know?
