The CTU 30 possesses a cover made of a proprietary, high-grade urethane. This soft material sticks to the clubfaces of short irons and wedges, converting more of the energy that is imparted to the ball into extra spin around the greens. By casting this material, we are able to make it extremely thin, which results in a bigger core that can generate more distance.

Callaway CTU 30 Blue
This is one of the best kept secrets around. Although a few years old, this is the best all around performance ball you will find for $20 per dozen. It is plenty long off the tee, and very responsive around the green. They spin as much as any ball out there, and I have tried them all. The most pleasant surprise is that the cover is also one of the most durable I have used. My wedges don't shear the cover like most urethane covered golf balls. Stock up on these.
