I recently got back into golf after a 20-year break and I needed to replace all the Nitro balls that I lost in my last couple of rounds. I was seriously losing 9 or 10 Nitros in the woods every round. At $1/ball, these Wilsons aren't exactly a bank breaker, so I picked up a pack to play 18 the other day. I thought that if they were even a little better, I would at least enjoy the game more. My drives were longer and straighter than before. I'm now hitting my driver ~200 yards straight down the fairway, something that would have never happened with the Nitros. I am very happy with the performance of the Wilson Tour Velocity Accuracy balls. I'm sure there are better balls. I was hitting around 220 with my brother-in-law's Titleist something-somethings a couple of weeks ago, so I know the distance could be longer. That's really my only complaint. Just for reference, I play with a Strata starter set and my average score is between 105-110. So you see, I'm not a good golfer, but paying just a little bit more for the Wilsons over the Nitros helped my game and I enjoyed it more. Oh, and over the course of 18 holes, I only lost one ball in the woods. That means that I really only lost $1 worth of Wilsons where I was losing $4-5 worth of Nitros each round. Playing the Wilsons actually cost me less than hitting the cheaper balls.
