The Cleveland Niblick is a great club around the greens. If you are looking for something different the Niblick helps with various shots like low punch, high flop, etc. Its very universal around the greens.

Golfballs.com Staff Review: from Johnny 9/30/2008
When I initially heard that Cleveland was going to follow in the footsteps and produce a "Chipper" like many other manufacturers I was a bit skeptical. What club will it replace? and will my playing group make fun of me? Well after seeing it first hand it is going to be an absolute winner! My playing group will stay quiet after they see it in action!

I purchased a Niblick after hearing rave reviews at a business meeting in February. At first I was skeptical, the Niblick has replaced my PW in the bag and has become my most trusted club in my bag. From 130 to around the greens, the Niblick has helped me cut roughly 5-6 strokes off my handicap.
A business partner that I've played with on many occasions saw the Niblick in action this week and decided to purchase the club himself. I travel a lot and do not have time to practice, thus my short game suffers.

I was always a fan of so called chippers, so when I saw the new Cleveland Niblick I took some time to think if i wanted to pay $109 for a utility club. Well I decided to spring for it seeing that I am on the fringe of the green rather than on. I have played only a few rounds with it so far and it has been paying off already. You can even hit it at a full shot from about 80yds out and it lands nice and soft. It puts nice spin on the short chip shots. If you are around the fringe alot this is the club for you

is a niblick for women golfers?

thank you for your question. The Niblick is for all golfers. There is a lady Niblick known as the Bloom Niblick which is similar to the regular version just lighter.

how do you use this as a putter ?

Thank you for your question. The Niblick is to be used from greenside lies within 100 or so yards from the green. It is the length of a putter to get golfers in the habit of playing the bump and run shot while using a similar stroke that you would use with your putter.

I want to buy a headcover for that chipper. Do you have one? How do I order it?

Thank you for your question.
I'm sorry but Cleveland doesn't offer a head cover for a Niblick. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Cleveland Golf Niblick has two loft selections that will are smilarly angled as your 8 or 9 iron (37 vs 42 degree). You may use the club during all shot making situations that you can imagine. It is a great tool for making your short game manageable.

If you were to go to a three wedge system, what loft's /bounce would you buy. Thanks, Craig

Craig, the lofts needed to fill your gaps will differ according to the loft of your irons. A stronger set of irons will need stronger wedges. For example: if your PW is 45 degree you will want your gap wedge near 50 degree with a sand at 54 and the lob at 58. You will always want your gap and lob wedges to have lower bounce while your sand wedge has higher bounce. The lower bounce is better for "harder" surfaces ie compact sand while the higher bounce is great for "softer" lies ie fluffy white s

My PW (Callaway X20) is 45 degrees, which makes it a 10 Iron in my opinion, not a wedge. Some sets (e.g. popular Wilson Di7) have a 43 degrees PW! I debated a 50 or 52 degree Approach and am very glad I went with 50. 56 for Sand and 60 for Lob. Longer hitting pros might go 52/58/62. Mickelson carries 60 and 64! I can do just about anything inside 60 yds with my 60.04 - very happy I went with the low bounce Lob rather than an even flatter loft.

48, 54 and 60
48, 53 and 58
Most PW are 47 & can be bent a degree weaker. If you mean 4 wedge I'd say 47,51,55,60 or 48,52,56,60

a 48 degree pitching wedge and a high bounce sandy are all you need, become a feel player

Thank you for your question.
The standard loft on a sand wedge is either 55 or 56 Degree. It varies between those two lofts depending on the brand you prefer.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Johnny

54 to 56 degrees with 10 to 14 degrees of bounce. Cally's C grind is great, find the right loft and bounce combo.

If this is a "chipper" how does it play with accuracy as an approach iron??

Thank you for your question, the Cleveland Golf Niblick is cavity backed allowing perimeter weighting to provide optimum performance on off center impact. The groove system will apply back spin similar to that of an 8 or 9 iron depending on which loft you select. The length is shorter which decreases the error providing lower side spin rates while keeping the backspin RPM at a high rate.
