This iron set is standard head weight. If you are looking for a "lighter" option you will have to look into graphite shafts as most heads will be weighted similarly. This iron set is one of the best sets you can get at the price offered. Please give me a call at 1-800-372-2557 to inquire. thanks.

Any idea where I can find Ping iron headcovers for my G5's?
Thanks!
09/14/2009 11:35 PM
Great Question but to our knowledge they have never made iron headcovers.
Sorry about that. Here is a link to our iron headcovers:

Hi--for Ping G5 wedges (UW and SW) in black dot, standard shaft--can I get them with a larger grip installed for the $56.00 price?
Thanks,
Todd
Todd Campbell

Todd, if you were to go with one of the PING standard grips in one of the two sizes over standard (gold, or orange color code) there is no additional cost to have the wedge built so the current $56 per club price for all G5 irons will stand.

I currently play with the Ping I-3's. Steel shaft. How would the G-5's or G-10's compare for a 10-15 handicapper? Do they come in a graphite shaft and would you recommend that? What about hybrids
David
07/20/2009 8:11 PM
David, the G series is going to be more forgiving than the I series irons you have. Both the G5 and G10 boast a wider sole, deep cavity back, and progressive offset. If you are looking for an iron that is easier to hit, the G series is the way to go. The clubs are available in graphite if needed but dont really recommend it unless it is truely needed. The G10 hybrids are excellent long iron replacements if you are looking to enhance your long game. I recommend staying as far away from a 3 iron i

Juan

Sure! You can purchase any iron you would like in the G5 line. The irons sell for $56 each with steel shafts so you are looking at $168 + shipping as your order total.

I keep reading about length of shaft, measuring wrist to floor, I am short, so what does this measurement tell me and how do I apply it to shaft length
Anonymous
06/02/2009 9:17 AM
Thank you for your question in regard to shaft lengths. The measurement from wrist to floor will determine which length you will need your shaft set at. Typically, shorter golfer will need their irons/woods cut down in order to maximize proper impact. Please determine the length of your arm from wrist to floor from a standing upright position with your arms at your side and I can determine the optimal length for you.

Also your wrist to floor measurement will determine what lie angle you need. I'm 5'3" and I needed my clubs flattened 3 degrees from standard! Look into it!

Thank you for your inquiry in regard to the Ping G5 irons. I do have the irons available and they are considered max game improvement which will increase your accuracy as the iron set is considerably more forgiving than the 755 irons you have been playing previously. You will notice that your performance on off-center contact will be tremendously increased.

Thank you for your inquiry. Typically guys your height will need added length to the shaft with an upright lie angle. Your arm length from wrist to floor will give a better idea as to how much additional length is needed. The majority of golfers in your height range would benefit from a 1/2" extended shaft and a 2 degree upright lie angle. The custom iron set will definately improve your ball striking ability and your consistency in your iron play. Please give us a call if you have further quest

Typically the custom sets are turned around within a week so total delivery time is as fast through PING as any other manufacturer.
