In regards to looking for longer shafts and lengthened club, i just ordered a custum set of G10's (seriously 1 month ago) with a 1" extention and oversized grips and have played 3 rounds of golf with them. Great clubs but i want to get the new G15's. Green should fit you. According to Ping the green color code is 2.25 degrees up.

Tim, yes if that measurement is accurate the red color code should fit you. The standard length iron set generally fits players from 5'7" to 6'1" so you shouldnt need to have the irons extended. Tim, if your arm measurements are accurate the PING color code you would fit is gold dot. Your height brings you near standard length so you shouldnt need to have the shafts extended.

Thank you for your question. To start, how tall are you? The wrist to floor measurement needs to be taken with shoes and your palm facing forward while hanging directly to your side while you stand upright. You will measure from the base of your wrist to the floor. This will categorize you into a color code with Ping's fitting system giving us an excellent idea of how your clubs need to be built to suit you.

Thanks for your question. The Ping color system has you at the black dot color code. For most iron sets, you should be just fine with standard length and standard lie.

Chuck according to Ping's color system white dot is your code and I would have them extended to 1/2" over standard length to accomodate your height. The Ping color system is a preset custom fitting system that is color coded to help you identify yourself in their fitting scheme. Every manufacturer will customize your irons by bending to a specific degree upright or flat. Ping, groups the fittings into colors to make it easier on the consumer.

Good question. Graphite iron shafts are going to be better for vibration reduction and enhanced club head speed however, the torque rating is higher than steel therefore your shot dispersion will be higher with graphite on mishits decreasing your odds of hitting more greens. If you want more accuracy, go with steel and at your age, there is no reason to swing a graphite shafted iron set.

Roger, more often than not guys in your height range will vary (depending on arm length) anywhere from a 1/4" to a 1/2" extended length shaft with a lie angle of 2 degrees upright. You should be able to swing the regular flex shaft just fine given your build.

Thank you for your question in regard to shaft lengths. The measurement from wrist to floor will determine which length you will need your shaft set at. Typically, shorter golfer will need their irons/woods cut down in order to maximize proper impact. Please determine the length of your arm from wrist to floor from a standing upright position with your arms at your side and I can determine the optimal length for you.

Your arm length from wrist to floor will give a better idea as to how much additional length is needed. The majority of golfers in your height range would benefit from a 1/2" extended shaft and a 2 degree upright lie angle.
