After just taking up golf after a 30 year break i needed a club that was reasonable in price,good in quality,and easy to hit. The #5 fairway wood fit the bill perfectly.

Great Question.
The answer is both! They go hand in hand together. That's why so many companies taught High Launch clubs or balls. More carry, etc.....More height should translate into more distance.
