Step Aside ProV1x
3/26/2007
I finally found a ball I like as much or more than the ProV1x. The ProsPECT is just as long or longer than the ProV1x and spins just as much or more than the regular ProV1, especially on less than full swings with a wedge. Better performance at less than half the price.

New ball of choice

I have been a Volvik fan for about 4 years when I found a Green 80 in a ditch and tee'd it up an the next hole to see what was up with this no-name ball. After it went about 30 yards longer than my previous best efforts on that hole, I was hooked.Since Volvik discontinued the Green 80 I've mainly been playing Titlest NXT Tours and Pro V1*. The PROsPECT falls in between the two balls: not quite as soft as a Pro V1* but softer than a NXT Tour. Good bite off the irons and long off the driver and irons. Stable ball flight in windy conditions with a medium trajectory. The biggest downside I can find is the cheesey logo. The print looks more like something you would expect to find on "onion sack" balls at Walmart. Get used to answering the question "what kind of ball is that?". You won't mind when you outdrive your partner and then hit "a wedge with claws". If you are looking for Pro V1* type performance at a budget price, try a dozen of these.

good ball for the money

i really like this ball it flies straight in the wind, like all volviks, and spins good off the wedges with much better stopping spin than the volvik crystal.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

Is ID-Align aligned along 1) the center of balance, 2) the seam of two part cover, or 3) just a few dots on either side of initials?

Thank you for your question. The IDAlign service is centered in accordance to the logo of the manufacturer, in many cases the balls we print on are seamless. The are 6 different Golfballs.com ID-Align selections to choose from including arrows, lines, dots, or stars. For additional inquiries, please contact us at 1-800-372-2557. Thanks, Andy
