Technical Data

Swing Speed
Swing speed is a measure of velocity, in miles per hour, of how fast the club head of a golf club is traveling at the point it makes impact with the golf ball. Swing speed can be recorded by a launch monitor or other electronic radar devices.

Balls designed for higher handicap golfers generally have harder covers that result in lower spin rates with irons and drivers. Balls designed for low handicap golfers tend to offer your more control and spin.

Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

I never played a better ball; also, the value is terrific! Almost as soft to the feel as the ProV, however, the performance off the tee is far better. About 10 yards or more and nearly a club difference with the irons. Green stopping is as good or better than the ProV1 and almost as good as the X. But unless you are hitting a number of balls onto the practice green you will not see the difference. The only ball that I like as much is the Bridgestone 330RX. It feels softer thant the ProV but performs the sam

Nike One Tour D is an excellent ball to get greater distance without sacrificing feel on the greens. I played Titelist Pro V 1X and Taylormade and these Tour D's provide 10-15yds additional Consistent feel without the $ 40 price. Wallet likes it too. Steve

Bye Bye Pro V 1

I routinely played both of the Bridgestone 330 balls (Soft and Distance). They are a good overall ball but had some durability and cost issues for me. I figured if I am paying ProV1 price why not play a ProV. So in July I switched to the 2009 pro V1s in search of more spin. The 2009 Pro V1’s definitely had spin and with the new and improved cover they seemed to be more durable then before. My only real issue was distance and the fact they just ballooned on me. My fade could become a slice very easily. I bou

Nike Tour D Golf Ball....GET IT!
5/14/2009
Not much for hype from the big manufacturers, Golfballs.com sent me a dozen Nike Tour D balls in place of some Srixons which were out of stock. Best ball I've ever hit. My drives normally fall in the 230-245 yardage range, but with the Tour D ball, I was reaching out into the 270-285 range, a massive improvement and it taught me that the ball you play does indeed make a huge difference. I could never hit a Pro-V this far. You should bite the bullet and buy a few sleeves of these balls.

I haven't bought golf balls since Titleist Balata's were replaced by Titleist Professional's. What Nike ball offers the best soft cover and good spin for iron shots? I don't care about distance, I lik

Balata was replaced by urethane which is a much more durable substance. Urethane overs better wedge spin without sacrificing spin off the driver. In the Nike brand, the One Tour and Tour D are the urethane balls and of the two the Tour is the higher spinning.
