Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

Broke 2 during same round
10/13/2009
Today was my first time playing with the HX Hot Plus golf ball. I was super excited to try these because I spent all summer playing with a softer ball (Callaway Diablo balls), and wanted to see what the difference was. These (HX Hot Plus) definitely leave the tee a lot faster, but I ended up breaking two of them off the tee box during the same round. Yep, the core is really orange! I'll continue to use these until all twelve are broken or lost.

These balls are a discernible improvement on an already excellent brand. The lower spin rate improves trajectory, and the pergormance from 100 yards in is very similar to the bite.

We'd recommend Yellow or Orange. Both stand out well on the golf course. Thanks.

which is better for senior players with slower swings, HX Hot Plus or the Diablo

I think the Diablo would be a great fit if your swing speed is below 74. If you know your swing speed and its over 74 then the HX would be the better fit.

I am looking into the Callaway HX Bite and HX Hot Plus. I've tried the high-end Callaway balls before, but did not care for them: too much spin off the driver. I am looking for something that spins

hi, thanks for the question. The Hx Hot Plus has a much lower compression, so it should feel a little softer. Honestly, the best ball for minimized side spin, while not sacrificing feel and playability is the Bridgestone E6. -Parker
