Thank you for your question. As per your description of what you want out of you golf ball I would try the Bridgestone E7+.

I am not sure I would agree with this recommendation. The E7+ is actually designed to have a lower trajectory. If you want to keep the high trajectory, then I would go with the E6+, which is designed to minimize your slice (as best as possible, which you are also looking for). All Bridgestones seem to putt true and hold the greens pretty well.

The major ball manufacturers available in the US are: Acushnet Golf inc. Taylor Made Golf, Bridgestone (Precept), SRI Technologies (Srixon), Nike Golf, Callaway Golf (Top-Flite), and Wilson Sporting Goods.

Correction to the answr above Nike is made by Bridgestone as of now. I have not heard of them making their own balls yet. Also to add to the list: Maxfli, Pinnicle and Dunlop. But there are certainly a few minor manufacturers, but even some of the major one, if not all, may be using the same production plants in China.

Out of the three I'd try the e6+ in a heartbeat over the others. Not that the others aren't good but the e6+ is a great golf ball.
Any other thoughts? What do you think?

The e7+ is a higher compression ball compared to the TreoSoft. If you're looking for a softer feeling golf ball for a slower swing speed I'd go with the TreoSoft. On the e7+ you'll get a longer distance ball with great feel.

The talk is about club head speed; high, moderate and low. Just where does one go to determine club head speed and does this only apply to drivers?

Thank you for your inquiry. Club head speed is mainly mentioned when speaking of driving the golf ball. High club head speeds are 100 MHP+, moderate 85-99, and low would be considered below 85 MPH. Head speed will always be considered when determining shaft flex and usually ball selection. It is always great to be aware of your club head speed.

Don't worry, I'll answer your question for you. Most golf shops have equipment with which they can measure your club head speed, however they may attempt to sell you a shaft you don't need. The vast majority of people do just fine with the shaft that comes with the club.

Search for a Golfsmith or PGA Tour Superstore in your area. Golfsmith has hitting areas set up near the rear of their shops and the majority of the time no one bothers you at all. The PGA Tour Superstores usually have at least 8 perforance bays that you can try clubs out.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

Golf balls stored in a controlled climate, (not outside in the elements, not stored in a 100 degree temperature,)will lose ONE YARD per year. That means, obviously, if you store your golf balls for ten years they will lose only ten yards of carry. Most of us could never tell the difference until it reaches that ten year mark.

Excellent question.
Nowadays so many balls aren't classified as having a "urethane" cover but more now classified under their own brand name cover. But please be sure and review ball descriptions as many of them do have the cover named in the description.

This is a perfect question for a company that started out selling used golf balls! Really there is only one down side; the length of time the ball spent in the water. If it's one that has been in the water for months then it stands a much better chance to become "out of round" so that the performance of the golf ball is compromised. This is rare due to the fact that used golf ball retriever is a big time business and ponds/lakes have balls fished out of them

It's nothing more than a simple number system developed in case golfers in the same group are using the same golf ball. This way those golfer could use different numbered golf balls and be able to identify their golf ball easily.

Thank you for your question. With your swing speed I'd recommend looking for a lower compression golf ball, 70 or below. Every major manufacturer produces a "low compression" golf ball and some of the more popular "low compression" golf balls are Volvik Crystal, Bridgestone TreoSoft, Callaway Big Bertha Diablo, Titleist DT Carry and Nike Juice Plus.

You may certainly request this. During checkout there is a space to add "additional comments." Please make your request there. But also please note that the being able to enlarge your personalization is based upon 1) there being a limited amount of text that you want on the ball 2) knowing that we have a limited amount of space to print on.
If you max out all three lines with text then we would have no room to grow, so to speak.

Thanks for your question. Golf Ball Manufacturer aren't required to put a compression on a golf ball and many of them don't want to be segmented by giving that information. In regards to dimple designs there are multiple dimple designs on golf balls and there is also not set number as to how many dimples a golf ball will have. It varies on every golf ball.

Storing golf balls at room temp in your house is ideal. In regards to storing golf balls in cold temperatures or hot temps for that matter, temperature will eventually have an effect on a golf ball but only after a long period of time. Moral of the story, try not to store golf balls in your trunk! I'm guilty of that one!

Thank you for your comments, and you're right it certainly does feel that way. I can't tell you how many calls or emails we receive stating that just when you get used to playing a certain ball they change it! It's enough to drive your crazy! For a golf ball manufacturer it's about doing their best to keep their product relevant and fresh. That is why their product gets tweaked every 1-2 years.
While I feel your pain I don't think there is anything we can do about it!
