an OK ball 9/11/2009
Handicap 10 - 15
This ball is NOT soft and has a very high compression. Not a bad ball but it's like hitting a rock for a slow swinger. The cover can take the punishment for sure. Putts will give you a jarr. Don't buy this thinking it will cure your bad swings. I, however, will be switching to something else.

Top Flite XL 5000 Super Straight 7/29/2009
Handicap 20-30
I had found one of these on the course and decided to play with it until it got lost. Well I havent lost it yet. I really enjoyed using it and did notice that it pretty much stayed right on path. It is still possible for it to fade, slice, draw ect. Sometimes I think you can mistake a great shot thinking the ball "did it" but this ball really seems to fly in a nice straight line with little spin. I did hit 2 shots that seemed directly lined to hit the flag. 13$ for 15 balls is one of the best deals you can ge

Beginner golfer here. Used these balls yesterday at the local Par 3....WOW, what a difference. Every shot was straight as an arrow and just awesome. Beat the heck out of my Callaway Big Berthas.

Thank you for your question. A golf ball isn't the magic pill but I would recommend a ball that is a "Straight" ball. I'd recommend trying: http://www.golfballs.com/PB1506-NWH/Top-Flite-D2-Straight-Golf-Ball.html Please let me know if I may be of any other service. Thank you, Johnny

The talk is about club head speed; high, moderate and low. Just where does one go to determine club head speed and does this only apply to drivers?

Thank you for your inquiry. Club head speed is mainly mentioned when speaking of driving the golf ball. High club head speeds are 100 MHP+, moderate 85-99, and low would be considered below 85 MPH. Head speed will always be considered when determining shaft flex and usually ball selection. It is always great to be aware of your club head speed.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

A golf ball takes between 100 and 1000 years to decompose. If a golf ball is not old and battered through play, it will be fine!!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/6540852/Golf-balls-take-1000-years-to-decompose.html
