When Nike Golf began designing our new wedges, we wanted to model them after those played by the best in the world. So when we say we’ve designed our wedges "to the exact specifications of championship athletes" that’s exactly what we mean. In fact, one of our wedges is the exact club that helped carry David Duval to his 2001 British Open victory. Nike Forged Wedges are made from a soft 1030 carbon steel and come with our proprietary groove design a unique hybrid of U-grooves and V-grooves for just the right amount of spin and distance control. The consistency of the forged soft carbon steel eliminates the hot and soft spots in the clubface. It allows us to carefully grind the heel so that the face can be opened without interfering bounce. If you’ve ever anguished over a lob shot off a bare lie, forget your fret. We designed the 53 degree and 58 degree to be a set as well as the 56 degree and 60 degree though that does not preclude mixing and matching any of the four.
