Like their standard launch brothers, the SpeedBlade HL (high launch) Steel Irons utilize TaylorMade's Speed Pocket technology—a handlebar-shaped cut-through slot located on the sole. This allows the face to flex in and out upon impact. The results? Faster velocities, higher launches, and an enhanced feel with each shot including those that are below the face center, which is where 72 percent of mid-handicappers typically make impact.

TaylorMade upgraded the Speed Pocket compared to what was on the RocketBladez models to be wider and longer for a larger face around the toe and heel, providing a powerful ball flight and steep descent, as well as heightened launch angles. Additionally, the head takes on a wedge-like appearance to add extra control around the green.

Every iron in this set minimizes the break between the longest iron and the shortest fairway wood, with the gap between each iron length in the set being meticulously balanced.
