I have played Sonartec MD's for the past 2 years. They have replaced my Fairway woods anmd, depending upon the conditions and course, I currently have a choice of 17, 19, 21 and 25 to work with. Initially, the clubs were a bit difficult to produce a higher trajectory than my long irons. The solution designed by my clubfitter, was to subtitute soft tip Accra Tour 50i Iron shafts, tipped about 1", in all of the clubs. This dramatically elevated the ball flight, but retained the extremely solid ball contact, dispersion and reliable distance. My driver 105ss consistently produces about 185y(25), 205y(21), 215y(19) and 230y(17). These distances are realistic and honest, measured with a Sky Caddie GPS. The Sonartec website gives excellent guidance on exactly how to set up and strike the ball with the MD's. This is an invaluable guide. These are professional tools which produces excellent on course results. Each time. Every time. Highly recommended for handicaps under 20.

After reading up on all the different clubs out there it seemed the Sonartec was the right choice (see Golf Digest). I purchased a 19* (stiff). I usually hit my 3-iron 210, and the first time I used this new club I was 235-240 out on a par-5 and stuck it 10 ft from the flag. I didn't make the eagle, but a tap-in birdie is ok with me. this club hits far, and the sweet spot seems to be the entire club. AWESOME. I think I am going to get the 15* and 23* to go along with this club.

Great Question.
The answer is both! They go hand in hand together. That's why so many companies taught High Launch clubs or balls. More carry, etc.....More height should translate into more distance.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Play Well,
