I have the 1I and 4I. Today i hit my driver around 280....second shot i used the 1. It carried 3 ft left of pin on a Par5 525 yrd hole. EAGLE! Distance on a second shot on par 5 is my friend!

as of today 3/15/2010 the only available XLS hybrid in steel is the 2i. The XLS is no longer being produced so I do not have the option of ordering.

Would this club be about the same as a 2 or 3 iron, in loft and distance?

Roy, yes this hybrid could replace your longer irons starting with the 1i at 16 degree all the way through the 5i at 28 degrees. The 2 or 3 iron replacement would be the 19 degree and the 22 degree hybrids in the XLS.

Great Question.
The answer is both! They go hand in hand together. That's why so many companies taught High Launch clubs or balls. More carry, etc.....More height should translate into more distance.
