Frequently asked questions about
are the hybrids designed to take the place of the coinsiding #iron?

This would all depend on the loft of the hybrid you thinking about getting. Most times the lofts do match from iron to hybrid. The typical loft on a 3 iron is 19-21 degrees loft and it goes up about 3 to 4 degrees per club. This could help in choosing a hybrid.

This should only be done if your swing speed is dropping.

Great Question.
The answer is both! They go hand in hand together. That's why so many companies taught High Launch clubs or balls. More carry, etc.....More height should translate into more distance.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Play Well,
