Technical Data

Swing Speed
Swing speed is a measure of velocity, in miles per hour, of how fast the club head of a golf club is traveling at the point it makes impact with the golf ball. Swing speed can be recorded by a launch monitor or other electronic radar devices.

Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

Wilson Smart Core- Orange

The orange Wilson Smart Core balls are great. They are easier to locate and give me the best bang for the buck. Some "Real" golfers think the color is beneath them, but the balls are simply super and I generally out drive better golfers with my wonderful Wilson orange balls.

Better than Srixzon Z Star and Bridgestone. Got my spouse turned onto them....All he hits with now! I love the orange for tournaments so I don't have to bicker over whose ball is whose.....:) LOVE THEM! Why pay 40.00 for Srixzon when these do the same or better job?! This is the best place to buy golf balls! Hugs! MH :)

Awesome!!!!!!!!!

I love Srixzon Z Star yellows but cannot afford $40.00 per dozen. After much research on the 'net', I saw the wonderful reviews about the Wilson Smartcore. I play in a lot of tournament scrambles so I like to know I have a colored ball. This series plays as well as my Srixzons and Bridgestones.....if not better! Buy them while you can ...Rumor is they are stopping production. :( Great shipping!!!!! Faster than the wind!!!! Thanks! MH:)

At what handicap would the Smartcore benefit a golfer most or are there Smartcore's with differant compressions?

All Smartcore's have the same compression. Handicap I don't believe is relative. Swing speed is. With a lower compression this ball benefits golfers who swing under 90mph.
