What is the compression number on these balls? My friend loves them and I tried them the other day and really liked them as well. He said they were the VOLVIK CRYSTAL CONTROL 70 COMPRESSION. Is that a particular VOLVIK ball that is different from other balls you offer. He said that particular ball was designed for swing speeds of less than 80 miles /hour.I DID SEE A SITE THAT LISTED A BALL AS VOLVIK CRYSTAL 70.I want to order some of this particular ball but I want to make sure I'm ordering the correct ball. I did notice that the ball really jumped off the face of the club and got much more distance on my drives and I liked the feel around and on the green......THE BRIGHT ORANGE COLOR SURE STANDS OUT IN THE FAIRWAY. PLEASE HELP ME TO ORDER THE CORRECT BALL......THANKS

The old Volvik ball was a 70 compression. 2 years ago new ownership took over Volvik and made it an 80 compression ball. There is a copycat ball called the FL Golf Crystal that looks identical to the Volvik and is a 70 compression ball.

When I first started using Volvik golf balls they were advertised as a 70 compression ball.
Now they only say a lower compression rating.
There is a difference between the 70 and 80 and I would like to know if they are still 70 or are they now 80? And are there any 70 compression balls on the market?

The Volvik Crystal is now an 80 compression golf ball. Volvik stated that after testing this they found the 80 compression gave more distance while still keeping it's soft feel. The original Volvik Crystal was a 70 compression. Thanks.

We're these golf balls kept outside? It is possibly then that the play could be impacted. The good news is that they aren't liquid core golf balls like they used to be in the past which would have been impacted quickly by weather conditions. It would be worth a shot trying them out.

Dom
05/23/2011 6:42 PM
Low compression golf balls are for golfers with low swing speeds. A low compression ball will most likely spin too much for you resulting in higher launch off of the tee with less accuracy and distance. The only positive would be a softer feel, but that can be had with your high compression tour balls that are 3,4, or 5 piece. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

A golf ball takes between 100 and 1000 years to decompose. If a golf ball is not old and battered through play, it will be fine!!!

Golf balls certainly do have a shelf life. Ever been to the driving range, and no matter what club you hit, 4 iron to wedge, they all seem to travel the same distance? I play to a 10.3 index and hit 5 irons on average about 225yds. I hit range balls and I'm lucky to get 175 to 180 out of them. Same with a pitching wedge. Normally with Pro V1's, I have a range of 140 to 150, at the range, lucky to get 100 yds. out of them.

Comparing golf balls in a controlled climate - on a shelf in a closet - to balls at a driving range is ridiculous! Range balls are hit hundreds (if not thousands) of times, run thru a cleaning machine and hit again. They are likely to be hit off of various equipment, run over by mowers, etc. The comparisaon you make is foolish!
Low Handicap Golfer: Keith

I'm guessing Jake could very well be at a range with Limited Flight (LF) range balls. To that end, Keith is spot on. Range balls take a beating that no other golf ball on earth will take through its lifetime. Not only that, but range balls are typically stored...wait for it...in UNcontrolled environment

Are not range balls manufactured differently for the extra abuse they receive? I factor in the difference from 'range distance' to 'course distance.' My course distance will a 'normal' ball is always about 10-30 yards better than the 'range rocks'. For fun, take a range ball onto course and compare. At PGA events, the range balls are new Titleists to match the course balls the pros may use. Pros switch out balls after they go 'out-of-round' which is determined by a Acu-Check tool. I think the

Golf balls stored in a controlled climate, (not outside in the elements, not stored in a 100 degree temperature,)will lose ONE YARD per year. That means, obviously, if you store your golf balls for ten years they will lose only ten yards of carry. Most of us could never tell the difference until it reaches that ten year mark.

What is the downside of using balls fished out of water? Can an otherwise perfect ball become water-logged?
Anonymous

Thank you for your question.
This is a perfect question for a company that started out selling used golf balls! Really there is only one down side; the length of time the ball spent in the water. If it's one that has been in the water for months then it stands a much better chance to become "out of round" so that the performance of the golf ball is compromised. This is rare due to the fact that used golf ball retriever is a big time business and ponds/lakes have balls fished out of them

Mike, thank you for your inquiry. Moderate club head speeds are closer to the 85-90 MPH speed zone. Anything 100+ would be considered high. Thanks. Andy

In this new age of high-tech golf balls, how long can they be stored in climate controlled environment and still be 100% effective? Thanks Eddy

Thank you for your question Eddy.
If you store golf balls in a climate controlled environment there really is an unlimited shelf life. At least this is what I'm told after speaking with a few major brands who make golf balls.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you,
Johnny

Nick,
Thanks for your question. Right now we can not pull that one off. Our machine is specifically set up for 3 or less. Anything more falls outside of our printing parameter and you wouldn't see the whole line.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,

Can I have a personalization done on more than one side?
Anonymous
03/28/2009 12:31 AM
Thank you for your question.
This is not a problem at all. The charge for what's called a "two-pole" print would be an extra $5 on top of the personalized ball price. You would need to call us to place this order as this would be a custom order. You may reach us at 1-800-372-2557.

If I buy two Bridgestone Treo Soft and get $6.00 shipping it comes to $44. on logo overruns. I can buy new ones @ $21.95 so how am I saving?

Mr. Mazzone,
Thank you for your question.
Where is the value? 1) Not spending the gas to go to the store to purchase golf balls 2) You are not charged sales tax on your order which to purchase locally would push you over the $44 threshold. 3) Convenience - 24 hour shopping
I hope you would view these as a few reasons to consider purchasing online vs. purchasing at a retail store.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I may be of any other service.
Sincerely,

Am I able to purchase 4 dozen of balls, each with a differant personalization?
Anonymous

Absolutely,
You will need to add the Pro V1 - Personalized four different times on your order to be able to personalize each dozen individually.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Johnny

Thank you for your question.
You may certainly request this. During checkout there is a space to add "additional comments." Please make your request there. But also please note that the being able to enlarge your personalization is based upon 1) there being a limited amount of text that you want on the ball 2) knowing that we have a limited amount of space to print on.
If you max out all three lines with text then we would have no room to grow, so to speak.
I hope this helps and pleas

1.Why don't ball manufacturer's put the compression of the ball on the box.?
2. How many dimples designs are there on golf balls.?
Thank you.
Jim.

Jim,
Thanks for your question. Golf Ball Manufacturer aren't required to put a compression on a golf ball and many of them don't want to be segmented by giving that information. In regards to dimple designs there are multiple dimple designs on golf balls and there is also not set number as to how many dimples a golf ball will have. It varies on every golf ball.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

How would you store golf balls is it ok to store them at room temp in your house. And can beening in the cool hurt them

Thank you for your question.
Storing golf balls at room temp in your house is ideal. In regards to storing golf balls in cold temperatures or hot temps for that matter, temperature will eventually have an effect on a golf ball but only after a long period of time. Moral of the story, try not to store golf balls in your trunk! I'm guilty of that one!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I store most of mine in the bottom of the lake. When they are there for a long time, they don't hit very well anymore!

I have been told by PGA pros and watching Golf Channel that golf balls go bad.....depending on conditions they are stored in.
Out doors (like range balls) couple months.
Indoors...No issue.
Extremes make all the difference.
(Ever wondered why your hitting off the driving range is never as excellent as using your own ball??? The range balls are old and less forgiving).

Range balls are typically low compression in addition to being hit THOUSANDS of times. These are the two reasons distance suffers. Why Pros hit the range they use the identical balls they play with. Not typical range balls. I worked at the 5 Bethpage courses as a college student and this is how we rolled at the range.

Regarding the storage of golf balls room temperature is fine. If you are playing in conditions below 50 degrees. I recommend that you use a lower compression ball: Wilson Staff Zip/50, Srixon Soft Feel or perhaps even a woman's ball. In harsh/cold conditions a lower compression ball will compress easier -- thus hoefully giving better control. Also, on the way to the course, I keep a few balls by the floor heater to keep them warm. When on the course keep a few in your pants pocket so your b

Thank you for your comments, and you're right it certainly does feel that way. I can't tell you how many calls or emails we receive stating that just when you get used to playing a certain ball they change it! It's enough to drive your crazy! For a golf ball manufacturer it's about doing their best to keep their product relevant and fresh. That is why their product gets tweaked every 1-2 years.
While I feel your pain I don't think there is anything we can do about it!
Please let me kno
