Manufacturer Description
The Tour-proven Titleist Pro V1x™ golf ball delivers very low spin off the driver and long irons, providing longer distance and a more consistent ball flight, along with its renowned Drop-and-Stop™ greenside control. The 2011 Pro V1x features a large, high velocity dual core with a soft center, urethane elastomer cover, spherically tiled 328 tetrahedral dimple design and responsive ionomeric casing layer. Also, a higher trajectory contributes to the Titleist Pro V1x’s longer distance and a consistent flight that cuts through windy conditions. The Best Keep Getting Better.

I absolutly love the ProV1x! However, I hate the price due to the durability of the cover! I understand that the cover is an important part of the ProV1x's performance, but if I hit just 1 wedge shot with my 52°, 56°, 60°, or 64° wedge, the ball is done. Any one of my wedge shots (unless I strike it very lightly), will cause the cover to cut open, and it will also scuff it badly. Granted, I like to hit a one hop and stop shot, and these balls perform wonderfully in that respect, but after the hole, into the shag bag they go! I also use conforming Vokey wedges, so it's not a "worked" or "hot" groove issue. I have a full shag bag, and 4 large driving range buckets full of ProV1x's used on one hole. I can tell you that it's made me dial in my iron game, I need to get home in two so I don't have to pull a wedge out. But I can tell you that I go through 15 dozen+ per year, and it's starting to feel like buying Gillette Power razor refills.

I have been playing these golf balls for years and see no difference other than the price. I would recommend this product.

Pro V1X are great balls. New balls can be had for 35 to $40.
My only issue is over run balls are priced too closed(sp) to new balls.
Can't you do any better?

Great spin control. Soft off the face. Better control than Callaway.

Frequently asked questions about
A friend of mine ordered a few dozen Pro V1's, but he was somehow able to request and get all the balls with #3. I want to pick up 5 boxes of Pro V1x's but all #1's. I was on your site a week ago (using my iphone), and saw a drop down asking if I wanted to request a specific #, but I can't find it again for the life of me. Can you tell me how I can make this happen?
THANKS!! Jason

Practice ball? What does that mean? Is this the same as a used ball? Sorry for the dumb question, I'm new to the game.

No these are not used balls. The PGA, LPGA, Sr PGA and Nationwide Tour players that play Titleist balls, have the same ball that they play waiting on them on the practice range at the events. These balls are marked PRACTICE on the side, so that if hit into an ajoining fairway at an event they could not be mis-identified. All the ball makers do this, Titleist allows their best accounts the chance to sell the balls that were made in excess and sell them to customers at a greatly reduced price, all

We do have different price breaks if you are looking to put some sort of logo on the golf ball. for example if it is your company logo or a logo for an event you guys are having we can do price breaks for the more dozens you purchase. there is a 6 dozen minimum requirement for logoed golf balls.

What does the "practice" mean. Are these the same balls as the regular ProV1x, but possibly with cosmetic flaws?
Doug Laub

You are 100% correct. Simply cosmetic flaws.

They may have a cosmetic flaw. That's it! Thanks.

Usually cosmetic only, like a blemish in the text writing, However since they say PRACTICE on the sides of the balls they are not allowed in competition play, due to the fact they may be altered in an unfair way. So if you play any competitive golf, be sure NOT to use the practice balls for that day - Hit them well!

Mr. Low Handicap Golfer is incorrect to say that a ball labeled PRACTICE cannot be used in competition. Decision 5-1/4 clearly says that, as long as the type of ball is an otherwise-confirming ball/brand/make, then the word PRACTICE is no different than a logo ball, and it IS allowed in competition play. Of course, if the committee in that tournament made a rule to the contrary, that would be different.

My swing speed is around 85 mph. Is either the pro v or prov1x a viable option for me? My handicap is 8 and my driver distance is usually around 180 to 190 yes.
Alison

I would recommend the Pro v1, not the Pro V1 X. The X is mainly for higher swing speeds.

for the 85mph I would recommend the pro v1 - Really you do not get the benefit from the pro v1 off the tee with that swing speed, BUT you will get the benefits around the green which is the most important. Just watch your spin off the tee with the pro v1 it can get away from you if not careful.
