Technical Data

Swing Speed
Swing speed is a measure of velocity, in miles per hour, of how fast the club head of a golf club is traveling at the point it makes impact with the golf ball. Swing speed can be recorded by a launch monitor or other electronic radar devices.

Handicap
Balls designed for higher handicap golfers generally have harder covers that result in lower spin rates with irons and drivers. Balls designed for low handicap golfers tend to offer your more control and spin.

Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

Taylormade Penta TP

One of the best golf balls you will ever see. Very long distance off the tee, fantastic fairway/rough shots, very high spin, and exceptional durability. Anyone who swings over 85 mph will usually be fine with this ball and do well. If you are looking for more distance with high(er) spin rates around the green, this is your ball. Phenomenal performance, just as good or better than a 2011 Titleist Pro V1.

Penta Is Good Donkey!

Just like Jeff said. I used to play those old balatas when I could afford it. They went out of round so fast. The approx. lifetime per ball 2 rounds if you were lucky to keep it that long. I've changed over to the Penta for just that reason, they give you so much feel!! The durability of the cover isn't as good as some of the 3 piece I used to play, but I'll sacrifice that for feel anyday.

Great ball

Found a Taylor Made Penta Ball on the course and used it for 8 holes. Played 2-under par. The ball flies much farther than my bridestone 330s and stops like a dime on the greens. Love the soft feel. Reminds me of the old balata balls back in the 1970s.

What is the difference between a overrun and stock, are there logos on the balls?

That is correct. The Overruns have a Corporate Logo or Message printed on them. Thanks.
