The new Z-STARxv golf ball's proprietary urethane cover is the thinnest and the softest in the premium market producing an excellent combination of distance and spin. The new four-piece dual Energetic Gradient Growth core provides the best distance in a premium offering while maintaining low spin to optimize driver performance. Between the two Z-STAR balls, the Z-STARxv is a more distance oriented tour performance ball which returns less spin off the driver creating longer more penetrating ball flights. The ball feels slightly firmer, but does not sacrifice feel and control around the greens. Goldilocks and the three balls
I decided to try out the Srixon Line of Z Stars and first tried the SL. It was a little too soft, although I was averaging 270y and hit couple over 300y.
This was second up in the trial and once again hit it pretty far once again averaging 270 but found the ball to be a little hard.
Next up is the Z Star.. hopefully it will be just right!
Overall the XV is a great ball for someone who likes a bit firmer feel off irons and the putter.

Very nice for the price!
Very durable, this ball flies with a more penatrating flight. Some balls spin too much and go very high. I added maybe 5 - 8 yards more on tee shots over 4 rounds, but some of the approach shots did not stop as quickly

My new favorite balls.
Been playing Taylor Made Penta and ProV1x. But this is now my new ball. I have 118 swing speed use x-stiff driver shaft. With this ball I hit it long and with a slight draw (avg +285 yards) It has a lower ball flight than Penta which I like. Similar to ProV1x but I like the feel better (soft and crisp) not firm. What I love is the feel off the putter and chipping. Gorgeous spin not too much just enough. Bought three more boxes (great price now 6/2013) after I played 3 rounds. This is my new favorite ball. Ball is very durable as well.
