Balls designed for higher handicap golfers generally have harder covers that result in lower spin rates with irons and drivers. Balls designed for low handicap golfers tend to offer your more control and spin.

Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

Manufacturer Description

The Srixon Z-STAR X Yellow Golf Balls are built to provide more distance off of the tee without sacraficing much of the feel around the greens. They are longer than the regular Z Star golf balls and have a slightly firmer feel. The Z Star X is designed to give you a higher, more penetrating ball flight in all types of weather conditions. Yellow is the most visible color in the visual spectrum and psychology has correlated green with calming and stress relief; therefore Srixon® has combined the two colors based on these findings to tap into the player’s mind and expand the benefits of playing a better ball.

Great Distance and Control!
4/12/2010
The Srixon Z Star X Tour Yellow golf ball is a great product. It is longer off the tee than any other ball that I have played in recent memory. You also receive great feel with this ball as well as excellent control around the greens. The yellow ball is much easier to see in the air as well as on the ground. Anyone looking for a yellow golf ball with the production of a high end tour ball, this is the one for you.

The better ball Srixon Z Star X
7/21/2010
This is the second time I've order golf balls from golfballs.com and really find amazingly easy and their selections are great. These Z stars X's are the best ball I have ever played. They provide all the game control I could ever want. I will most definitely continue buying golf balls from golfballs.com in the future.

Srixson Z Star Yellow is the best.

I just started playing this ball and have noticed how easy it is to see in flight. It is longer than the Titleist NXT Tour I was using and has a softer feel and less spin off the club. I was also amazed by the amount of roll this ball has and the feel of the ball on the green. This is the only ball I will use from now on. I highly recommend this ball.

Frequently asked questions about

Which ball: the Z star or X, has a lower launch off the driver, and which has the least driver spin?

P-Murder our local Srixon expert says that the Z-Star accomplishes both lower launch of the driver and has the least driver spin. Personally i played the Z-Star X this weekend and couldn't hit it crooked. Hope this helps.

Jerry, the shelf life of the golf balls if stored in a climate controlled area is non existent. The balls will perform to the standards they were produced at the time. If you are playing an older golf ball you may notice differences from performance of newer balls but that is due to advances in technology not because the ball is "dead". Only storing balls out doors or in non controllable climates will you notice the balls only last around 2 years in most cases.

Thank you for your question. The IDAlign service is centered in accordance to the logo of the manufacturer, in many cases the balls we print on are seamless. The are 6 different Golfballs.com ID-Align selections to choose from including arrows, lines, dots, or stars. For additional inquiries, please contact us at 1-800-372-2557. Thanks, Andy
