I've played a lot of balls...new and used, even some found; but I'm getting older and was looking for a ball that I could see better. I played with this ball when it first came out and it was pretty much like most other balls. So I thought I'd try this yellow srixon Q star.....WOW. Loved the initial feel and smoothness of the cover; but the feel of this ball around the greens is better than any I've played.it's an awesome experience with your irons,"Damn good ball."

I played these for the first time in April 2012. I was playing on my birthday and the pro at the shop tossed me a sleeve with his birthday wishes. I had moved away from having a strong preference for specific balls, but this one was different. I had great control and the cover was soft and felt great coming off the putter. I played them for the day and went back to my old balls and noticed an immediate difference. Now I am hooked - in fact, I am playing the yellows only these days as my older eyes find them easier and I can follow them in flight. Great balls. Great value.

I have been using these balls this year. I usually use the Soft Feel Srixon but I like these better. They are much quicker off the club head and feel just as soft around the green. I get more distance off them as well. Very good golf ball.

How does spin rate effect distance performance with the Srixon Q Star Tour golf ball?

Generally when the spin rate of a golf ball is too high or low, distance output is not maximized. Too much backspin forces greater lift and a steeper decending angle resulting in little to no roll while too little backspin results in low trajectory shots that do not carry the ideal distances. The Q Star golf ball provides very low spin rates off the driver while maintaining a medium/high level of backspin with a short iron or wedge making this golf ball very playable throughout the hole.
