Callaway HEX Chrome Golf Balls Overview
The HEX Chrome is the best 3-piece urethane golf ball that Callaway has ever produced. It's highly durable, contains the best HEX Aerodynamics that Callaway has ever developed and features super soft feel that's ideal for players with moderate swing speeds. HEX Chrome is also engineered for high performance from tee-to-green. Take advantage of high spin around the green and superior distance to play with ultimate confidence on every shot.
The proprietary urethane cover formulation of the Callaway HEX Chrome significantly increases durability to prevent scratches and marks throughout the round. It also produces both outstanding short-game spin and soft feel that players seek in a high performance Tour golf ball.
The proprietary core is an optimal combination of high resilience and low compression. This unique combination provides extremely soft feel off the clubface with unparalleled ball speeds that maximize distance for golfers with moderate swing speeds. The s-Tech Core of the Callaway HEX Black is surrounded by a firm, thin mantle layer that provides premium resilience without making the ball feel harder. It's designed to maximize ball speed without generating high spin off the tee. This provides you the best combination for long distance.
Callaway's patented HEX Aerodynamics produce 100% surface area coverage on a golf ball, compared to traditional round dimples that cover only 88% of the surface. This highly engineered pattern that envelopes HEX Chrome golf balls provide the best aerodynamic performance ever produced in a Callaway golf ball, reducing drag and ultimately promoting a penetrating, stable ball flight.

I wanted to respond to someone who said he received stock balls without logos on them. I ordered 2 dozen and all of the balls I received had logos on them, which is fine for me. Actually got one with a former US Open course logo on it. I got what I paid for. Overrun balls are a great option to save some money.

So my golf ball experiment continues. My goal is to find a good ball in the $30 or less per/box range. This month's trial was with the Hex Chrome. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this ball. I have no idea what my swing speed is, but I felt like this ball was very responsive off the tee. It has a softer feel from others I have tried in this price range and ball flight is pretty consistent. That said, miss-hits do tend to get away from you with this ball but when you hittem where they are suppose to be, you can easily find the fairway with lots of added role. What surprised me the most was the control of this ball on the greens. My biggest complaint about balls in this price range is the loss of the higher spin rate on the greens you can typically get with a tour quality ball. That said the Hex was surprisingly solid on the greens for me. Two more brands to test but the Hex may be my ball of choice moving forward.

My swing speed is in the mid 90's. The ball was easily 6-8 yards longer than any performance ball out there. I had no problems holding on our firm greens. It felt great off my putter. Callaway has a winner!

Frequently asked questions about
Can you please tell me what designates "over run" balls. For instance I was looking at Callaway Hex Chrome overrun balls which are $5 cheaper per doz than the same ball in stock - thanks

These are new balls that simply have a Corporate Logo or message on it. Thanks.

I've ordered three dozen of the "overrun" balls total now, and none of them came with a logo or message on them. They look like regular stock balls. I'm not complaining a bit...it just continues to pleasantly surprise me.
