Technical Data

Swing Speed
Swing speed is a measure of velocity, in miles per hour, of how fast the club head of a golf club is traveling at the point it makes impact with the golf ball. Swing speed can be recorded by a launch monitor or other electronic radar devices.

Handicap
Balls designed for higher handicap golfers generally have harder covers that result in lower spin rates with irons and drivers. Balls designed for low handicap golfers tend to offer your more control and spin.

Trajectory
Trajectory is a term used to describe the flight characteristics of a golf shot. It considers the height of the shot as well as it's launch and landing characteristics.

Feel (Compression)
Feel is a term that considers the firmness or compression of the golf ball. Typically the softer the golf ball feels, the lower the compression rating. A general rule of thumb about golf ball compression is that players with a lower swing speed should use a lower compression ball to take advantage of the added spring affect.

9 Iron Spin
9 iron spin is regarding the backward rotation of the golf ball in flight or the measured rate of that rotation. Most golfers think of backspin more in relation to shorter irons and wedges. Backspin is what causes some wedge shots to "back up" on the green, or roll backwards after hitting the green.

Amazing Ball
5/24/2011
Like others I received a sample pack of these balls a year ago from a Magazine, figured what the heck give them a try. I normally (and still do when conditions dictate) play the Srixon Z-Star. I love this ball just as much. Driver - ball is just as long as my Srixon, ball flight about the same despite this being a "low trajectory" ball. For me mid to high ball flight but I swing a 10 degree driver. Irons - THIS BALL IS 7-10 YARDS FURTHER (ball flight - not just because they don't stop on green with high spin) than my Srixon off every iron 5-PW. I don't know why, I am not technical enough to understand why, but it is. It is a low spin ball so these won't stop on a dime, good for softer greens where you don't need the breaking affect. IMO and after over a year of using, I have gotten extra distance on my irons with this for sure. Wedges - Feel off the wedge is soft and really nice, same as my Srixon's. I feel like I have a great deal of control over distance on less than full shots. Ball does not check up or back up, but not looking for it to do that with this ball anyway. Putter - like the Wedge, this ball feels really nice and not "clack" of a rock when you hit it. Why do I keep comparing this to my Srixon's - well, except when I am playing rock hard greens where I need to stop the ball, I play this ball as much as my Srixon's --- oooh yah, Srixon is $45 most places (little cheaper here for last years ball) and Diablo $19.95 ---- comprende ? No reason NOT to play this ball even a lower handicapper unless you absolutely have to stop your ball on a dime --- but then again, you better hit the ball perfect everytime or what's the point right ???

I received a sample two ball sleeve from a golf magazine for my subscription and wow am I ever glad I did! This is a wonderful ball. My distance is better. My control is better. Feel is very good. Love the trajectory as well. Highly recommend trying it. I will be using it for some time in the future.

Hot Balls!
8/17/2009
I bought a trial pack of 2. I had a 180 yd shot to the green after a pitiful but not unusual drive of 200yds. I puuled out a diablo and hit a 3 rescue. I average 175 with it.The ball ended up 20 yrds over the green? So on 9, a tough hole with a lake in front of green I drove it to the very edge some 250 yds plus. I still can't believe it. But I'm buying a doz today!

It varies by ball. We received them bulk from Callaway and put them in boxes. It could be one of 20 different logos.

What is the deal with the callaway warbird plus? Is it for beginners? What swing speed is it ideal for?
Max

The compression is around 83 so it would work well for people with swing speeds around 85-90. Thanks for the question.
